Bunkey's Bag o' Tricks

Hey Everyone!

Just thought I'd post an update to tell you some of the new things Bunkey's been doing lately!  He's reaching a ton of milestones and as excited as I get over each new thing, I'm sad since it means just one more piece of babyhood is gone...  Being a mother is so emotional!

These are in no particular order, and some he's been doing for a while...
  • Can roll from tummy to back (has been doing this for over a month now)
  • Can roll from back to tummy (just caught him doing this last night totally by himself...earlier this week he could kinda roll over, but then his arm would get stuck under him and he'd flop back the same way...today he learned how to get his arm out from under him)
  • Sucks just his thumb and not just his entire fist (but sometimes also just goes for his fingers)
  • Found his toes and private parts...both of which he finds quite amusing
  • "Plays" with small toys. His favorites are a plastic rattle, a couple of rings that have different textures strung onto them, and some mesh-like balls. He mostly just chews on them, but he's learning how to shake the ones that make noise
  • The other day at our Parents Place class he "played" with one of the other boys. They were laying next to each other on the floor and kept rolling into each other, grabbing onto each others hands, ears, noses, faces, and blankets. They tried to chew on each other's fingers as well, but I made sure Scott only got his own hands into his mouth and the other mommy did the same with her son, Epic. It was really cute and we were all rolling on the floor laughing at them play together!  At one point it sorta looked like they were holding hands and hugging...adorable!
  • "Tickle".  He is learning to "rake" his fingers.  Sometimes this is on a new surface and Bunkey marvels at the noise his fingernails make on the fabric.  Other times it's on me and it really tickles!
  • Big huge belly laughs!  Yes, he's been giggling for a while now, but last night I was tickling him and he let out several big jolly belly laughs that about melted my heart.  Hubs thought it was me laughing...but no, that big joyous noise was coming from our little man!
As far as eating, Bunkey's mastered avocado, sweet potatoes, and now pumpkin. After Halloween we're going to try butternut squash...  You can check out how I prepared each on my cooking blog...hint hint!
